What the pin header connector?

Today we introduce header connectors. Header connectors are generally classified by pitch. The most commonly used pitches are 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.27mm, 2.0mm, 2.54mm, 3.96mm, and 5.08mm. There are also a few pitches of 1.5mm, 2.2mm, and 3.0mm. The pitch can be customized according to market and customer requirements.
What is pitch? The center distance between two pins is the pitch of the product, and the center distance between pins in different rows is the row pitch.
Connectors are generally composed of plastic parts and metal pins/terminals. The plastic parts are usually made of materials such as PBT at room temperature, PA6T,PA9T, and LCP at high temperature. RealRun selects raw materials that have passed UL certification and comply with RoHS and Reach for injection molding. The material of PIN pins/terminals is generally brass/phosphor bronze. The surface treatment process involves nickel plating on the brass surface and then gold or tin plating on the nickel layer.
The installation types of joint connectors are generally divided into 180-degree direct insertion, 90-degree/right angle insertion, vertical SMT and horizontal SMT types. The customization types include U-shaped, Z-shaped, etc. According to the supplier's customization capabilities, molds for special types can be made.
The number of rows of the connector includes single row, double row, triple row and quadruple row. Injection molded parts with pitch of 0.8mm, 1.0mm and 1.27mm are generally single-row and double-row. The maximum poles are 1*50P for single-row and 2*50P for double-row. In addition to single-row and double-row configurations. 2.0mm and 2.54mm can also achieve three-row and four-row configurations, and the maximum poles of 2.0 is 1*50P for single-row, 2*50P, 3*50P, and 4*50P for double-row, three-row, and four-row configurations respectively. The maximum poles for a single row of 2.54 pitch is 1*40P, while for two rows, three rows and four rows, it is 2*40P, 3*40P and 4*40P respectively.
